On March 17, 2023, IRCC announced extension of post-graduation work permits for up to 18 months.
The details as these:
- starting April 6, 2023, the PGWP holders whose work permits expires in 2023 (January 01 to December 31, 2023) will be eligible to apply for the extension up to 18 months under this temporary policy;
- the PGWP holders whose work permits expired between September 20, 2021 and December 31 2022 are given a second chance to apply for extension under 2022 temporary policy;
- the PGWP holders, who received an email from IRCC to inform you that you are eligible to apply for the extension, can apply for the extension and they are authorized to work during the process of this application.
- the PGWP holders whose work permits have expired or who didn’t receive an email from IRCC must apply for the extension under this temporary policy.
